Sustainable Materials - Without the Hot Air: Making Buildings, Vehicles and Products Efficiently and with Less New Material

Summary:

The authors look at materials and think or work out if there is a better way to use them with considerately less waste and improving the efficiently at the same time.
Looking at how we use all the materials which we make into a vast number of products in different ways some better than others, most of which we use in our everyday life.

The base line is it's about how to make materials into goods in a more efficient way both from the point of view of saving money and make them easier to use. These can go hand in hand. It doesn't over complicate every thing as some books do as it’s More to the point, what they write seems to make a great deal of sense, also you get the feeling that the authors have had experience in a good cross section of manufacturing and the business world out there. As they indicate they are always looking for a better way to be more efficient, Produce a better product and if they are doing it properly save some money along the way.

Reading this book has given me insight on the more practical side of engineering, and so my interest has shifted more to the mechanical engineering.
